Sasha's Shashliks

The day before the 4th, I was driving around North Tacoma when I saw this sign:

And then I wondered, "where the Russians at??" My curious companion pulled over, ready to try out some Russian food and hear me put my language skills to use.
Sasha, the Shashlik man, who answered "no comprende" when asked if he speaks Russian, was quite the interesting cook! Why was there a sign in Russian? Was there a Russian community nearby? Turns out a lot of truckers pass by the area, and they can't pull into the fast food lots. Sasha to the rescue! He sets up every year, around the 4th of July, and sells Shashliks for a few days. His friends run the firework stand in the same lot.

Mmmmmm.

Final product!

Until we meet again!
