Oh, Canada...Day!

July 1st. Also known as Canada Day.
With passport in hand, I headed to Vancouver, B.C., which is about a four hour drive North of Tacoma.

Here's what Seattle looks like at 6 am during the month of July:

A rest stop along I-5 had a couple of phone booths:

...and large trees (more greenery!)

Finally, the Canadian border!!

They sure are proud!

Canadian flag.
First intersection once in Canada.
Hello Canada!
Smart transportation methods.
Glimpse of city buildings ahead.
The bridge to Vancouver!
Wow, just wow.
And now I'm in the city!
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy views of the city (and any appropriate and applicable captions):

Not only was it Canada Day, but also Cannabis Day. Above, people were setting up for a festival in Downtown Vancouver.

Except their needle rests on the top of a building.

After driving around Vancouver, I discovered Stanley Park, a large beautiful park surrounded by water filled with large trees and tons of greenery. People were running, playing cricket, enjoying their wonderful day off at the beach. It's a 400-hectare park! For more info on Stanley Park, click here.

View of Vancouver from Stanley Park.

Absolutely gorgeous!

The bridge seen in the above photos.

Brave biking body.

Midway through the bridge.

Vancouver behind me.
Crossing the bridge took me from Vancouver to North Vancouver. I was on my way to Mt. Seymour, the closest mountain my GPS decided to lead me to.

A small stream, with a waterfall and dam straight ahead. You'll see a picture of the waterfall close up, as you continue to scroll down this entry.
Yes, that is snow, in July, on a 80+ degree day!

Time to pose!

Ah, the waterfall!

Water heading downstream.

Snowball fight time! Right by that very waterfall.

Snow!

Top o' the waterfall/dam.

Water that supplies the waterfall.
View from the top of the waterfall.

Huge block of snow where a guy was snow-shoeing!!

Vancouver was a very pleasant place! City, mountains, beaches, lakes, forests, parks...they've got it all, including my heart!
