July 1st. Also known as Canada Day.
With passport in hand, I headed to Vancouver, B.C., which is about a four hour drive North of Tacoma.
Here's what Seattle looks like at 6 am during the month of July:
A rest stop along I-5 had a couple of phone booths:
...and large trees (more greenery!)
Finally, the Canadian border!!

After driving around Vancouver, I discovered Stanley Park, a large beautiful park surrounded by water filled with large trees and tons of greenery. People were running, playing cricket, enjoying their wonderful day off at the beach. It's a 400-hectare park!

Crossing the bridge took me from Vancouver to North Vancouver. I was on my way to Mt. Seymour, the closest mountain my GPS decided to lead me to.

Vancouver was a very pleasant place! City, mountains, beaches, lakes, forests, parks...they've got it all, including my heart!
Very spectacular!
